An Absolutely Stunning Summer Salad Social with BTS-Central AL

Summer Salad Social: A Feast for the Eyes and the Heart

There’s something special about gathering around a beautifully set table in the summertime—especially when every detail reflects care, creativity, and hospitality. Our June Beautiful Table Settings event, Summer Time Salad Social, hosted by the gracious Beverly Heartsill, was one of those afternoons that reminded us why we love this community so much.

Summer Salads and Gorgeous Collections

From the moment guests arrived, Beverly welcomed us into her beautiful home with warmth and effortless Southern hospitality. Before we ever reached the dining tables, many of us found ourselves admiring her china cabinets—filled with collections of gorgeous china that told stories of years spent gathering pieces that are both meaningful and beautiful.

Stunning Tables

Five stunning tables were thoughtfully arranged throughout the home, each set with collected china, sparkling crystal, and elegant water decanters that made every place setting feel intentional and unique. One of the highlights of the afternoon was drawing numbers for seating assignments. There’s always a little excitement in discovering where you’ll land and who you’ll get to visit with during the meal. It could become one of my favorite traditions because it gently encourages new conversations and helps everyone feel included. Great idea Beverly!

And then… the food.

If there has ever been a gathering that lived up to its name, this was it.

The salad selections seemed endless—truly every salad known to mankind! Each piece of serve ware held something delicious, creating a colorful and abundant spread that celebrated summer flavors at their finest. Alongside the salads were savory meatballs, delightful chicken salad croissants, classic deviled eggs, and refreshing mimosas that added a festive touch to the occasion.

Of course, no Southern gathering is complete without dessert, and we were treated to comforting banana pudding and a beautiful blueberry compote that felt like summer in a bowl.

Business and Fellowship

After our summer salad lunch, we shifted into a productive time of BTS business and fellowship. Plans were discussed, ideas were shared, and everyone had an opportunity to connect and contribute to what makes this group such a joy. We also enjoyed a new favorite activity  —- the swap table! There was a little anticipation and delight in choosing something special to take home. I brought home an Allure serving bowl by Noritake and promptly began a search for the salad plates to go with it. Inspired by the day! Salads and beautiful china!

We were especially happy to welcome a visitor to our gathering. She was greeted with a thoughtful gift and the kind of warm welcome that makes Beautiful Table Settings feel less like an event and more like sitting down with friends.

True Southern Hospitality

Then came an unforgettable ending to the day.

As the gathering wrapped up, summer decided to make an entrance with a full-on monsoon! But in true Southern gentleman fashion, Beverly’s husband turned what could have been a soggy dash into one of the sweetest memories of the day—escorting each guest to her car with an umbrella and a smile.

No one left empty-handed.

Our lovely parting gifts were hydrangea melamine appetizer plates paired with a precious wooden spoon and charming little hydrangea place card holders that could also serve as photo holders. Such thoughtful details perfectly reflected the beauty and generosity that defined the entire afternoon.

Summer Time Salad Social was more than beautiful tables and delicious food—it was a reminder that hospitality creates connection, and simple moments shared around a table become treasured memories.

Thank you, Beverly, for opening your home and creating such a memorable June gathering.

We meet monthly, so please read about our April Showers and Love Affair with Limoges events.
