There’s something so special about creating a card with your own hands—especially when it’s sent with love, intention, and prayer. Today, I’m excited to introduce something new to the blog that has quickly become one of my favorite ways to create: Paper Pumpkin kits from Stampin’ Up!.

If you’ve ever wanted to make beautiful, meaningful cards but felt overwhelmed by supplies or unsure where to begin, this might just be your answer.

What is Paper Pumpkin?

Paper Pumpkin (referred to here as “PP”) is a monthly subscription box from Stampin’ Up! that delivers everything you need to create coordinated, handcrafted projects—usually cards—right to your doorstep.

Each kit includes:

• Pre-cut paper pieces
• Stamps and an ink spot
• Embellishments
• Adhesives
• Step-by-step instructions

It’s like opening a little box of creativity and connection each month—no guesswork required.

April’s upcoming kit is perfectly timed for spring break, quick weekend vacays and is filled with soft colors, fresh water, and relaxing themes. Think gentle waves, hopeful messages, and that sweet reminder that summer is on its way!

My Card-Making Process: “Cozy to Care” in 5 Steps

As I’ve grown in both creativity and faith, I’ve developed a simple rhythm for making cards that keeps me grounded and intentional. I call it Cozy to Care—because it starts with getting cozy and ends with caring deeply for the recipient of my cards.

Here’s the process I use every time:

1. Get Cozy

Before I even open my kit, I set the tone.

Light a candle, pour a cup of coffee or tea, and create a peaceful space where creativity can flow.

2. Choose Your Concept

Even with a kit, there’s room to personalize. I often create alternative designs in addition to the ones suggested by Stampin’ UP! The photo below is an alternative design to the January 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit.

• A. Sketch – Will I follow the design or switch it up?
• B. Colors – Do I stay with the kit palette or add my own touch?
• C. Focal Point – What message or image will stand out most?

3. Create

This is where the magic happens.

• A. Stamp – Add the sentiment or imagery – I try to do all my stamping at one time, including the envelope, and the inside of the card
• B. Die Cut / Emboss – Layer texture and dimension

4. Complete

Bring it all together with thoughtful finishing touches.

• A. Embellish – Gems, ribbon, or subtle accents – like the little hearts on the card below..
• B. Address – Handwrite the envelope (this alone feels like a lost art worth reviving!)

5. Care

This is my favorite step—and the heart behind it all.

• A. Pray for the recipient – Ask the Lord to bless, encourage, and meet them right where they are
• B. Add Postage & Send – Trusting it will arrive exactly when it’s needed
